ABSTRACT
This study aimed to establish the best-fit Model for productivity regarding professional competence, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment among private and public librarians in Region XII, Philippines. A descriptive-correlational design and structural equation modeling (SEM) were employed in this study. A survey was administered to 400 librarians through stratified random sampling. Data were analyzed using the adopted instrument using mean, Pearson’s Product-Moment Correlation (Pearson r), Multiple Regression Analyses, and SEM through the Analyses of Moment Structure (AMOS). All variables regarding professional competence, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and librarians’ productivity were very high. The findings revealed that professional competence and job satisfaction are significantly related to librarians’ productivity. However, organizational commitment showed no significant relationship with productivity. The best-fit Model (Model 3) performed the best across all indices, meeting the criteria for acceptance. The results suggested that librarians’ productivity was strongly linked to their professional competence, particularly in managing information, which positively impacts overall productivity.
