ABSTRACT
This qualitative research explored the methods used by nursing administrators to control burnout and boost team productivity, as well as the experiences of nurses working in hemodialysis units. Conducted in selected hospitals and outpatient centers in Parañaque City, the study involved 20 purposively chosen participants, including registered nurses and nursing administrators. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions and was analyzed thematically. The results showed that excessive workloads, technical stress, emotional strain from long-term patient care, and physical and mental depletion were the main causes of burnout. Nursing administrators addressed these challenges through flexible scheduling, open communication, emotional support, task delegation, and staff recognition. These strategies were found to be effective in reducing burnout and sustaining efficient care delivery. In addition to highlighting the value of supportive leadership in reducing burnout, the research suggests including inclusive decision-making, mental health support, and recognition practices in nurse management.
