ABSTRACT

The study explored the relationship between perceived psychological safety and absenteeism among college students. It also proposed the establishment of a student capsule, a designated lounge designed to promote well-being and reduce absenteeism. The research utilized a descriptive quantitative correlational design involving 152 college students from the University of Batangas–Lipa Campus, selected through stratified random sampling. Standardized instruments, including the Psychological Well-Being Scale and the Absenteeism Four-Point Scale, were employed to gather data. Findings revealed that respondents demonstrated a high level of psychological safety (mean = 3.79) and a low extent of absenteeism (mean = 1.61). However, the results indicated no significant relationship between psychological safety and absenteeism. Although there is no significant relationship between psychological safety and absenteeism, the findings suggest that psychological safety contributes to students’ overall development, thereby supporting the proposed establishment of a student capsule as a proactive, long-term initiative to enhance students’ psychological and emotional well-being.
